Event: Dev_StudioCon

In 2022, Wix hosted its first major conference—Wix Dev Con. This event was the launchpad for two groundbreaking solutions, Wix Blocks and Wix eComm. At the time, developer sentiment towards Wix was lukewarm at best. Many saw low-code or drag-and-drop builders as too restrictive for advanced projects.

The new tools, including Blocks and the comprehensive overhaul of the Wix for Devs offering, were set to change that perception. But first, we needed to rally our audience. A strong turnout at the conference was crucial to building an engaged initial audience for these new releases and improvements.

My role was to draft every line of copy for the event—from web copy to keynote speeches to SWAG. With so many moving parts, last-minute changes, and the high stakes of a successful conference, coordination and stakeholder management were essential to producing engaging copy.

Results:

The conference was a sell-out, and the sentiment following the event was incredibly enthusiastic. It marked the first milestone in repositioning the platform and convincing hard-coders to explore low-code solutions.

Building on this success, the sequel, Dev_StudioCon, was held in July 2024 to engage the emerging developer audience in India—another sell-out event.
